Matthew Crookes

Matthew Crookes is a writer and artist. Born in the UK, he lived in New Zealand for twelve years, graduating in 2015 with a Doctor of Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland. He then lived in Berlin for two years, where he was a fellow at Zentrum fur Kunst und Urbanistik, and was a researcher/administrator for the Berlin Sessions Residency platform. As an artist he has undertaken residencies in Australia (the LockUp), Sweden and Germany, and exhibited at Sarah Scout Presents and Abbotsford Convent c3 in Melbourne. As a writer he has contributed to un_, Ocula and the Pantograph Punch, among many others. He is currently based in Newcastle NSW.
