James Gatt

James Gatt is an independent curator based in Sydney. He has been making exhibitions since 2015, taking a conceptual and often collaborative approach to locate and posit potentials for alternative institutional, economic and curatorial models relating to contemporary art and practice. Gatt has published numerous catalogue essays and interviews with artists for exhibitions, and lead public discussions with local artists. From 2015 - 2017, Gatt was founding director of Squiggle Space, a hybrid studio and project space dedicated to open-ended enquiry and critical discussion. He is currently Associate Director at Sarah Cottier Gallery.
