Applications are now open to be our June/July 2022 Poetry Micro-Resident!
RD’s two-month micro-residencies are open to all poets, emerging or established. Previous experience working within the arts writing field is not required. You can find all the work of our past poetry residents on our poetry page.
Running Dog‘s 2022 poetry micro-residencies are 100% supported by our Patreon subscribers, and we do not currently receive state or federal funding. If you’d like to support the work we do, you can find more info here.
How does it work?
The micro-residency will be offered to one poet for a duration of two months. During this time, the poet in residence will produce two poems (ideally one per month, but the poet is also able to share both works at the end of the two-month period). These two poems will be distributed via Running Dog’s monthly newsletter to our readership.
All poetry micro-residents are paid for their work.
We’re looking for writing that is contemplative, experimental, and above all NEW! The selected poet is encouraged to develop poetry during the residency, so your expression of interest is all that’s needed for now.
Running Dog particularly encourages submissions from diverse writers, including First Nation, queer and/or trans writers, people of colour and writers of all genders and abilities.

About Running Dog:
Running Dog is an online arts publication that publishes long-form articles on contemporary art. Since its inception in 2017, the editorial ethos of the publication has been two-fold: firstly, to expand the culture of criticism around contemporary art, and secondly, to provide a necessary platform for experimental modes of arts writing. Running Dog has published reviews, features and poetry, as well as a series of special issues. Above all else, we endeavour to create a multi-vocal space for emerging and established writers who wish to challenge the modes of contemporary arts writing and rethink the potential of the digital space.
