Expressions of Interest: Running Dog CALD editor-at-large

Running Dog is currently seeking expressions of interest for a nine-month CALD editor-at-large who will work closely with the publication’s founding editor Naomi Riddle, and assistant editor Hannah Jenkins. This is a position for an experienced editor, and they will be responsible for commissioning one article per month. The successful applicant will begin work at the end of March 2020, and will coordinate Running Dog’s coverage of the 2020 Sydney Biennale

Please note: Running Dog’s weekly online content is currently focused on exhibitions and events taking place in Sydney and regional New South Wales. While we welcome applicants from other states, you will need to account for how you will negotiate these parameters. 

This position is open to any editor who identifies as culturally and linguistically diverse. Applicants will be assessed by Naomi Riddle, Hannah Jenkins and Neha Kale. 

The Role:

The editor-at-large will be contracted to assist Running Dog’s editor Naomi Riddle, and assistant editor Hannah Jenkins, in the delivery of one article per month. They will be responsible for the following tasks:

— commissioning one article per month (review or feature, approx. 1000 words) to be published on Running Dog, beginning with the Sydney Biennale; 
— liaising with their chosen contributors, procuring signed writers agreements and coordinating text editing;
— assisting in preparing content for the website including copy editing, images and permissions, and other aspects of production for articles;
— discussing overall approaches and themes with the editorial team;
— assisting, where possible, in assessing Running Dog call outs throughout the year for both the themed online issues and poetry micro-residencies.   

Total remuneration is $2,250 for the nine-month position ($250 per month).
